WHEN (Women’s Homelessness in Europe Network) is a collaboration and research network for those interested in the policy and evaluation of women’s homelessness in Europe.

Researchers who are part of WHEN contribute to the discussion of homelessness across Europe and have a direct impact on policy and practice.

The research available through this site will be of use to policy-makers, charitable organisations, and other academic researchers looking for the latest evaluations and findings in this field.

WHEN was founded by Dr. Paula Mayock, School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College Dublin, in early 2012 with the help of funding from the Irish Research Council’s ‘New Ideas’ Award. The Network is now jointly directed by Paula Mayock and Joanne Bretherton, Centre for Housing Policy (CHP), University of York.

The network has a membership of sixteen academics from 12 EU countries and includes representation from Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Slovenia, Sweden and the UK.

Other Funders of the Network include the University of York and the Dublin Region Homeless Executive (DRHE).
